My guest comic for Bubble Fox

I recently contributed another guest comic to the fabulous Jon Esparza’s Bubble Fox comic! Jon is one of the most supportive people I know in the world of cartooning. He was one of the Dragons’ first fans. So when he asked for me to contribute another guest comic, I of course agreed!

You can view the comic HERE.

When I drew the comic it was in the summer and my office was a lovely 90 degrees (ugh). So a summertime theme seemed appropriate. I should have paid more attention to the post-date, as September is hardly the time people are thinking about summer, lol. But it’s always summer somewhere, right?

Be sure to stay awhile and read more Bubble Fox, it’s an all-ages strip filled with hilarious gags and plenty of helium! 🙂

My guest comic for Dust Bunny Mafia

I was honored to recently provide a guest comic for the fabulous comic, “Dust Bunny Mafia” by Bret Juliano!

Dust Bunny Mafia has one of my favorite taglines, “Dangerously Cute Dust Bunnies in Fedoras”. The comic revolves around Leo and his gang of dust bunnies in a mafia-type setting and how they interact with the other families. It is witty, smart, and just plain hysterical! Just as entertaining as the comics are the comments that Bret leaves below each comic.

You can view the comic HERE.

I have to admit that I was intimidated to create the comic as Bret’s style is quite different from mine, and while I understand that the author of the guest comic is free to create it in their own style,  I admire Bret’s unique look so much that I wanted to do something similar.

And drawing that ice cream truck was one of my biggest challenges, but once I had the gag in my mind I had no choice but to draw it! I must say I dread drawing any kind of vehicle. After trying to free-hand it I gave up and just dragged an image into Illustrator and traced it. But I’m still proud of how it turned out!

I was honored to be accepted as a guest of the 2017 Ann Arbor Comic Arts Festival! This is my very first event ever, so I’m a little nervous but also very excited! There is a huge list of incredible guests and presenters! And there will be events happening all over downtown Ann Arbor throughout the weekend! I’ll be at table 29 at the Ann Arbor District library, which is where the Artist Alley is. Stop on by and say hi if you’re planning on attending! Click the above image for a link to the event!
