Seems like T-Bones doesn’t care much for his family
Then again, I can tell here that if there is a court-martial for Thew and Aurora, the probability of the colonists coming to their defense is quite high.
I will admit I sometimes write T-Bone as a bigger jerk than he actually is. But I also do know a lot of people who do not look forward to seeing their families and would even work holidays just to avoid interactions!
And yes, the colonists would definitely be on the side of the Tempest crew!
